Privacy Policy

The short version

We are a small family-run lodge. We only collect what we need to take your booking and answer your questions. We never see your card details, we do not send marketing emails, and we do not sell your information to anyone.

What we collect

When you book a room, we collect:

• Your name, email address and phone number
• Your arrival and departure dates, and the room you chose
• Any notes or special requests you add

When you use the contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number and your message.

We also collect basic, anonymous information about how the website is used — which pages are visited and how quickly they load. This is not linked to your booking.

Payments

Card payments are handled entirely by Square. Your card number is sent straight to them and never reaches our website or our records. We only see whether a payment succeeded and the amount.

Cookies

Google Analytics sets cookies to count visits and show us which pages are popular. You can block these with your browser settings or an ad blocker, and the site will work exactly as normal. Our page-speed measurements use no cookies at all.

Who else handles your information

We use a small number of established services to run the site. Each one only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Square — processes card payments
• Supabase — stores bookings and enquiries
• Vercel — hosts the website and measures page speed
• Resend — sends booking confirmations and our replies
• Google Analytics — counts visits to the site
• Sentry — reports technical errors so we can fix them

The map on our Location page is embedded from Google Maps, so Google can see that you viewed that page. Our photos are served from our own site, not from Instagram, and our reviews badge is an ordinary link to TripAdvisor — neither tracks you here.

If you booked through Booking.com or another travel site, that booking reaches us through them and their own privacy policy applies to it.

How long we keep it

We keep booking records for as long as we need them for your stay and for our business and tax records. Contact form enquiries are kept while we are helping you and are removed once they are no longer needed.

Your choices

Just email us and we will:

• Tell you what information we hold about you
• Correct anything that is wrong
• Delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
